Prologue
Meeting Lann and Wenduag as a tiefling
in 0.9.9e+ Caves under Kenabres Docs
It seemed odd to us that a tiefling Commander could ask Lann and Wenduag if they were tieflings when meeting them for the first time. So we made the existing line exclusive to non-tieflings, and added a new race-specific response for tieflings.
Text snippet(s)
“Who are you? You don’t look like tieflings to me.”
Nobles recognize Horgus Gwerm
in 0.9.9e+ Neathholm Docs
If the Commander is a noble—an emissary, leader, or courtier—they should be able to recognize Horgus Gwerm as a member of the Kenabres nobility.
His response will depend on the Commander's race, as Lord Gwerm may hold certain races in (slightly) higher regard than others.
Gwerm-approved races include humans, elves, half-elves, and aasimar.
Text snippet(s)
[Noble] “Greetings, Lord Gwerm. What a strange place for us to meet! Not your usual kind of scene, wouldn’t you say?”
Additional lines for choosing between Lann and Wenduag
in 0.9.9e+ Shield Maze Docs
This one was implemented due to a user request on NexusMods and to answer a question: Is it difficult to add a few lines to a scene to make it reflect a character's quirk?
How easy was that, you ask?
The answer is PAIN.
Sure, it always seems like a small fix until you find out that you need N! injections, where N is the number of alternative lines (because you have to change the conditions of ALL the other alternative lines with each new one you add).
And here we just wanted to emphasize that Wenduag is strong (she wants to be recognized as such) and Lann is trustworthy.
Text snippet(s)
“I can see that you’re the stronger warrior, Wenduag. Come with me.”
“Lann, you I can trust. Come with me.”
Additional lines for (not) showing the sword to Sull
in 0.9.9e+ Neathholm Docs
The introductory part of the game is rather merciful in trying not to overwhelm players with tons of alternative dialog lines.
However, in this particular scene, we added some alignment-specific lines that our chaotic and evil characters really needed: you don't have to be lawful to show the sword. Just as you may have your own reasons for not showing it.
Text snippet(s)
Good: [Reveal the Light of Heaven] “See for yourself, Sull. The Light of Heaven is once again here to protect us.”
Chaotic: [Reveal the Light of Heaven] “What angel’s sword? Oh, you mean that old thing?”
Neutral: “I’m not going to show you anything. There is no sword to speak of.”
Evil: “I don’t care about your imaginary swords. Now stop talking nonsense and show me the quickest way to the surface.”
