Version 0.9.8
The big change in this release is dealing with the consequences of killing Inquisitor Hulrun. Because he IS a major character in leading the defense of Kenabres against the demonic invasion, and the player can just decide to kill him for whatever reason.
There have to be consequences.
Version 0.9.8.1
Major changes
Chapter 2 Killing Hulrun Inquisiotr Liotr
If you decide to talk to Inquisitor Liotr about killing Hulrun (and you did not successfully bluff Irabeth earlier), learn to lie better.
Chapter 5 Killing Hulrun Daeran: Q3 Daeran
Daeran will comment if you try to shame him after all the inquisitors in his Q3 have been killed.
If you previously killed Hulrun for Ramien or Ember, it will be specifically mentioned.
Enhancements
Added more alignment-based options to (not) show the angelic sword to Sull and the mongrels.
View itemAdded two Lann and Wenduag-specific lines to recruit them: Wenduag wants to be the stronger one and Lann needs to be trusted.
View itemNoble characters will be able to recognize Horgus Gwerm upon first encounter.
View itemNoble characters will have a separate conversation with Camellia about being Horgus' daughter.
Noble characters will be able to recognize Daeran when they meet him in Kenabres for the first time.
When you first meet Daeran in Kenabres, you can remind him that he was in the Market Square earlier.
You can remind Daeran that he was the one who saw you wounded in the Prologue and recommended that you be left to die in a ditch.
If his romance is active, it will be referenced in some of the lines.
Unlocked Daeran's "You know there is something special about you [...]" dialog and reworked its flags.
Some lines in it may start his romance. However, if his romance has already started, this dialog will either be just another flirtation or (if you are boring) it will end his interest in you.
After visiting the War Room at least once, you can ask Daeran why the roses are back.
Chapter 5 Daeran: Q3 Daeran Romance
If Daeran's romance is active during his Q3, it will be recognized when he stumbles off the pyre.
Lann recognizes that the Commander equipped his beads. Talk to him to see his reaction.
Maintenance
- Chapter 2
Lann
Romance
Since game patch 2.1.5m removed the romance flag from the default friendly option, we've refactored all the flags in that scene (originally modified in 0.9.4). They now respond to whether his romance was started in chapter 1 or not.
We wrote a detailed Reddit post about these changes .
